American Made Steel Safes - Quality Comes First
As I am sure you are all aware, inflation has a grip on our economy. Most commodities have risen in cost to overwhelming highs. If you are building a home, I am sure you have seen a major increase in the cost of lumber and plywood. What you don’t hear too much about is what is going on with the rising cost of steel. In fact, American made steel is at an all-time high. Since April of 2020, we have incurred around a 300% increase in the cost of the steel we use. Not only is the cost of steel up in price… Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled (HRPO), or Prime Steel (which is all we use) has become very scarce.
Being a premier American safe manufacturer, we use a lot of steel. Steel is the main component in our heavy-duty safes, vault doors and shelters, and we use only prime American made steel. Others cut corners by using cheaper imported steel or have their safes manufactured overseas with cheap foreign components and labor. This gives them a price advantage, but not a quality advantage. We have made every attempt to avoid increasing costs. Regrettably the rapidly rising costs of steel have necessitated small increases in our prices. We will continue to strive our best to absorb as much of the steel price increase as possible, but we will never compromise on quality.
