Genuine Firearms Safety Education
Safe Firearms Handling for All
Tis the season for family and friends to gather and celebrate Christmas, New Year and the joy of the holiday season. It is also a time to make sure all your weapons are secure from the reach of little one’s and others who should not be handling or have unsupervised access to guns. To that end Vault Pro is a strong advocate for sensible gun safety and a proud member of Project Child Safe.
Project Child Safe
Project ChildSafe is the largest, most comprehensive firearms safety education program in the U.S. It was developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association for the firearms industry, and is committed to promoting genuine firearms safety through the distribution of safety education messages and free firearm Safety Kits.
Project ChildSafe is a real firearms safety solution that helps make communities safer. Since 1999, more than 15,000 law enforcement agencies have partnered with the program to distribute more than 37 million firearm safety kits to gun owners in all 50 states and five U.S. territories. Through vital partnerships with elected officials, community leaders, state agencies, businesses, the firearms industry and other stakeholders, Project ChildSafe has helped raise awareness about the safe and responsible ownership of firearms and the importance of storing firearms securely when not in use to help prevent accidents, theft and misuse.
OWN IT? RESPECT IT. SECURE IT.® INITIATIVE
The "Own It? Respect It. Secure It." initiative is an industry-wide commitment to raise the public’s consciousness on the issue of firearms safety and responsibility and encourage firearms owners to embrace the importance of proper storage.
Vault Pro is a proud sponsor of Project Child Safe. Their program dovetails perfectly with our mission to provide the finest and most secure weapons storage devices, while allowing for quick access to one’s firearms in case of emergency.
We urge you to visit the Project Child Safe website for more information on their organization and the many gun safety programs they offer. http://www.projectchildsafe.org/

As one of the many millions of responsible gun owners in this country, we understand the need for safety when handling and storing firearms. We all know the first rules of safe gun handling: Always treat a firearm as if it were loaded. Always check to see if there is a round in the chamber when handling a firearm. Always point the firearm in a safe direction in case of accidental discharge. As adults we teach these safety tips to young people who will be the firearms owners of the future. Unfortunately, children may not fully grasp the importance of these rules and may obtain access to firearms that have not been properly secured. This can lead to tragic incidents. Always make sure your weapons are safely secured when not in use. We should all follow the simple steps outlined below and supported by national gun rights groups, such as: NSSF and their ProjectChild Safe program, and the NRA. • Unloaded firearms should be stored in a locked gun safe when not in use. The storage location should not be accessible to children and secured with a locking mechanism with a combination only known by the responsible adult owner of the firearms. • Ammunition should be stored separate from firearms in a secure container, ideally in a safe. • Gun locking devices, such as a cable-style gun lock can provide an added layer of security. • Do a thorough check of ALL firearms being stored to make sure they are completely unloaded. This additional step can prevent accidental discharge when removing firearms from storage. We are proud supporters of the 2nd Amendment, which gives us the right to keep and bear arms. We also feel a great sense of responsibility to make sure we keep those arms safe and secure when not in use. Vault Pro safes far exceed all DOJ requirements and provide the best protection against break-ins and fire.
